CUIDAR – Cultures of disaster resilience among children and young people
The promotion of a culture of prevention is essential for the effective management of disasters. This guide provides insight on how to understand the perspective of children and adolescents in these situations.
With the project “CUIDAR – Cultures of disaster resilience among children and young people”, funded under the Horizon 2020 program, we tried to understand the perception of risk, prevention, and disaster management through the cross-cutting perspective of children and adolescents, taking into account the different cultural aspects.
To understand their points of view, it was necessary to develop innovative communication tools that would allow children and adolescents to articulate their experiences, contribute ideas and proposals to support emergency management actors during disasters, and to build better planning and more effective response.
