European 112 Day

Use advances in technology, information and communication to offer citizens the best possible help in case of emergency

112 is the European emergency number available free of charge, 24/7, anywhere in the European Union. In case of need, citizens can dial 112 to reach any emergency service in a member state, from the police to the medical service to the fire brigade.

Every year, on 11 February, Europe comes together to celebrate the European Emergency Number Day 112. Established by the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) in 2009 and dedicated to the dissemination of the European emergency number, the day is a opportunity to recognize the work of all those who contribute to the European emergency services chain.

Member States across Europe organize communication activities and other events to promote the European emergency number to their citizens, help spread the 112 message and ensure that the population receives the best possible help in emergency situations.
