A film about climate change produced with the children of Mandeville School
Mandeville School's film (London), Change CLIMATE Change, explores the global climate emergency from the perspective of a class of 8- and 9-year-old students.
The children collaborated with renowned photographer Gideon Mendel, who has been documenting communities around the world affected by flooding and fires for 17 years. Using Mendel’s photographic series, Submerged Portraits and Portraits in Ashes, the students participated in an intensive five-week workshop. During this period, they deepened their understanding of global warming through photography, writing, and drawing. The resulting film was presented at a ministerial roundtable with government ministers from Europe and Central Asia at the Regional Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction conference on November 7 in Montenegro.
