Territori Aperti Toolkit
Toolkit Disaster Preparedness is a dynamic tool produced as part of the "Territori Aperti" project, an initiative of the University of L'Aquila, CGIL, CISL and UIL and the Municipality of L'Aquila (Abruzzo Region, Italy) for the creation of an interdisciplinary documentation, training and research centre on aspects of the prevention and management of natural disasters and the reconstruction and development processes in the affected areas.
Toolkit Disaster Preparedness, capitalising on the experience already gained, aims to provide recommendations and procedures to Authorities and Institutions, but also to citizens, that will make it possible to improve disaster prevention, to make post-disaster actions more effective and structured, to improve disaster response, to reduce criticalities in all phases and, above all, to avoid mistakes already made.
The idea of Toolkit Disaster Preparedness stems from the need to have a tool capable of mapping every critical aspect in the management of a disaster, selecting a series of good and bad practices in order to be able to better manage similar situations in the future.
