Ownership of the platform and its contents
- Save the Children Italia ETS (hereinafter also referred to as "SC") is the owner of the website, which it updates and manages directly through its staff.
- The documentation, images, fonts, artwork, graphics, software, and other content on the website, as well as all codes and online forms used to implement the website, are the property of SC or are subject to its exclusive right of use
- The material contained on the website is protected by copyright. More specifically, SC has created photographs, video and documentary images, and descriptive texts to be included on its website, which are to be considered creative works. SC is therefore to be considered the "author" pursuant to and for the purposes of Law No. 633 of April 22, 1941, no. 633, as amended by Decree-Law No. 207 of December 30, 2008, converted into law, with amendments, by Conversion Law No. 14 of February 27, 2009 ("Protection of copyright and other rights related to its exercise"). As the author, he has the exclusive right to exploit the work economically, to reproduce, modify, transcribe, adapt, and transfer to third parties the right to use the originals, copies, or media of works, including through rental or loan
- Use of the site may be purely personal/professional and non-commercial, except in cases specifically authorized in advance in writing by SC.
- It is therefore prohibited to copy, modify, upload, download, transmit, publish, or distribute to third parties the content or trademarks of the site for commercial purposes or for purposes that may damage the image of SC
- The user, for purely professional or personal purposes and never for commercial purposes, has the right to download texts or other content from the site and to disseminate them via the web or in print, provided that the source of the same is explicitly and clearly indicated
- The unauthorized reproduction of SC's institutional banner on websites or other digital and non-digital communication tools is subject to legal action by SC, which constantly monitors the web to check for any unauthorized use of its logo.
Website content and purpose
The primary objective of the website is to provide educational content developed directly by SC or by third parties for the creation of thematic courses on disaster risk reduction, with a view to improving digital skills and the conscious use of technology by minors. Specifically, the website includes:
- Thematic courses that offer teachers and educators guided activity sheets to be carried out with minors
- Assessment tools (quizzes, questionnaires, checklists) for self-assessment of minors' skills and for monitoring the development of their skills
- Feedback form for teachers and educators using the platform to exchange experiences/opinions
SC's obligations, rights, and disclaimer of responsibility
1. The site provides links to the websites of other entities, organizations, or companies: SC cannot be held responsible for their availability, content, products, and services offered, nor for any damage or loss incurred as a result of their use. Furthermore, it is not responsible for the methods and purposes of the collection and processing of personal data by such third parties
2. SC will make every effort to maintain the provision of the service, but cannot be held responsible for any damage, loss of data, information, or other damage due to delays, inaccurate or missing information, restrictions or loss of access, difficulties or problems of any kind, errors, unauthorized use during access to the site and its services, or other forms of interaction with the service. SC does not guarantee and is not responsible for:
- a. the services provided through the site meeting the specific requests and needs of the user;
- b. the services provided through the site being uninterrupted, timely, secure, and error-free;
- c. the information and results obtained from the use of the services are always accurate and reliable;
- d. any defects in the software managing the site's services can be eliminated.
3. SC declines all responsibility for any damage resulting from the inaccessibility of the site's services or any damage caused by viruses, damaged files, errors, omissions, service interruptions, content deletions, problems related to the network, providers or telephone and/or telematic connections, unauthorized access, data alterations, failure and/or malfunction of the user's electronic equipment
4. The user acknowledges that SC shall not be held liable for any untrue information sent directly by the user (e.g., personal and non-personal information), as well as for information concerning the user that has been provided by a third party, even fraudulently
5. Under no circumstances shall SC be held liable for inappropriate, offensive, or indecent content, or for errors or omissions, transmitted or made available through, directly or indirectly, the website. SC undertakes to prevent unacceptable content from being published, but cannot guarantee that this will happen in real time, and therefore reserves the right to remove any type of content at a later date, at its own discretion
6. The user acknowledges that SC has the right to collect and store personal data provided when using the services available on the website, and to communicate such data to the competent authorities, especially where illegal behavior is found that may constitute a criminal offense:
- a. for reasons of justice;
- b. to defend itself against actions by third parties;
- c. to protect its own rights and security, those of users, and the general public. Any violation, even if only alleged, of these terms of use, or any violation, even if only alleged, of the rights of third parties and/or legal regulations in force in our legal system will result in the suspension or interruption of services
7. SC reserves the right, at its discretion, to:
- a. modify these terms of use: users will be notified by an announcement published on this site. Use of the services after such changes come into effect implies full acceptance of the changes. Users may check the current text of the terms of use at any time by clicking on the link "terms of use of the site."
- b. check and delete material sent to the site
- c. interrupt the availability of the site at any time and without notice.
User responsibility
- The acquisition by the user of any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the site, where permitted, will be carried out at the user's own discretion and risk. Therefore, any responsibility for damage to computer systems or loss of data resulting from the downloading of materials shall be borne by the user and cannot be attributed to SC.
- The user agrees to assume all risks inherent in the use of any type of content.
- The user is responsible for the storage and confidentiality of personal data that has been released during the use of the services made available by the site. The user undertakes to promptly notify SC, at the email address informativa.programmi@savethechildren.org, of any unauthorized use of their personal data or any other security breach of which they become aware.
Final provisions
- By accessing this website, the user and Save the Children agree that the laws and regulations of the Italian State shall apply to all matters relating to the use of the website
- The user and Save the Children also agree to submit exclusively to the jurisdiction of the Court of Rome for the above matters.
By accessing this site and using the tools made available therein, the user implicitly accepts the terms and conditions set forth herein.
