Save the Children & Lazio Region Civil Protection: a seminar for children's rights during emergencies
Save the Children Italy hosted the information seminar "Protection, Rights and Participation of Minors in Emergencies" at its headquarters in Rome, organised in collaboration with the Lazio Region Civil Protection Agency and with the participation of 180 volunteers from various civil protection associations in the Lazio region.
The seminar included an introduction on the organisation's Emergency Area, with a focus on the approach and intervention methodologies implemented to support the Civil Protection Department and the protection of minors during an emergency.
Numerous group works involved the use of manual skills, creativity and bodily expression with drawings, dances and representations aimed at making participants reflect on 4 key themes:
- Needs of minors in emergencies
- Skills to respond to such needs
- Children's rights and the protection dilemma
- Participation of minors
