European 112 Day
Use advances in information and communication technologies to provide citizens with the best possible assistance in emergencies
112 is the European emergency number, available free of charge, 24/7, anywhere in the European Union. In case of need, citizens can dial 112 to reach any emergency service in a member state, from the police to medical services to the fire department.
Every year on February 11, Europe comes together to celebrate European 112 Day. Established by the European Emergency Number Association (EENA) in 2009 and dedicated to promoting the European emergency number, the day is an opportunity to recognize the work of all those who contribute to the European emergency services chain member States across Europe organize communication activities and other events to promote the European emergency number among their citizens, help spread the message of 112, and ensure that the population receives the best possible help in emergency situations
