Askan's Footsteps
Askan's Footsteps is a Civil Defense volunteer organization born from the desire of nine dog-loving friends to provide their experience and professionalism (along with their trusty four-legged friends!) to bring their valuable help where it is needed.
The organization is involved in training (human-dog) rescue units, assisting people in emergencies, and offering logistical availability and support to institutions to intervene in situations where the organization's skills and equipment can really make a difference.
Some of the main activities of Askan's Footsteps include rescue and search for missing persons both on the ground and under rubble. This is a very important and delicate role, so excellent training of human-dog units becomes essential. It includes the use of Instructors with in-depth knowledge in canine psychology, advanced techniques and cynology. To ensure the highest quality and commitment of volunteers, final tests (called Brevets) are provided.
